We are just days away from our HHS Track & Field/XC reunion where we will honor some of our most accomplished student-athletes in school history. Please join us on Friday, October 7th during Harlan High vs Lynn Camp football game where we will celebrate our school and state champions during halftime. Harlan High School has a long history of championship athletes who have combined to win 28 Championship Medals with 11 Individual State Champions. Calling all Green Dragon Track & Field student-athletes from far and wide. Friday, October 14th, 2022 we will celebrate the long, rich history of the Green Dragon Track & Field program with a reunion/recognition night during the Harlan vs Lynn Camp football game. All former and current athletes and coaches are encouraged to participate in this event. We will honor our school record holders and state champions with special recognition during halftime of the game. The wait is almost over and we can't wait to open our doors to our Family of Dragons! The Harlan Independent Schools will open their doors to K-12 students on Wednesday, August 17th. Harlan Independent Schools board members Matt Nunez, Will Miller, Debby Howard, Virgil Eversole, and Cindy Allison will join a host of others to commemorate this significant investment into our community and to the future of Harlan. We invite the community to the newly expanded and upgraded cafe on Tuesday, August 16th at 11:30 for an open house/ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the completion of this phase of work. 🌞 Sunshine School would like to welcome back Rebecca Rodriguez to the Dragon family! Rebecca is a 2022 graduate of the University of the Cumberlands where she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree. She is currently enrolled at the Cumberlands in the Masters in Art of Teaching program for early childhood and elementary education. Rebecca has been a part of the Dragon Family for some time now. She is married to Harlan High School Alumnus, Coach Johnny Rodriguez, and is the mother of three Harlan Dragons: Eli, Malachi, and Jordan. She has served our district for more than 6 years as an assistant at Sunshine Preschool. She is excited to start the new school year as a K-3 Teacher at Sunshine and looks forward to a great year! 💚 #morethanaschool #familyofdragons

In order to make sure our classrooms and teachers are ready for what is sure to be the most exciting school year in our Green Dragon history, we have decided to delay the start of school for our students by one week. The new start date for students at Harlan Elementary, Harlan Middle, and Harlan High will be Wednesday, August 17th, 2022. Sunshine Preschool students will begin on Wednesday, August 24th, 2022.

Harlan Elementary School is giving away tons of brand new baby clothes! These clothes are new with tags and will be available until we run out. Stop by the school to pick up some adorable outfits! They are located inside the entryway door. We have clothes for boys and girls ranging from newborn to 2t in size. 🍼
