Students in Mr. Varner's Social Studies class were working on social contract. A social contract is an agreement by the students that allows them to create positive norms in their classroom!
Students in Mrs. Lawson's reading class kicked off their reading of "A Long Walk to Water" with an activity that put them directly into the pages of the book!

Students in Mrs. Wheeler's 6th grade reading & writing work on team building skills with story building! Students worked together to create stories and then chose a speaker while others in the group stood by in support.
Students in Ms. Kat's class affirmed each other with positive name recognition activities.
Our teachers are working hard to Capture the Hearts of our students!!!
🐉 Great stuff happening at HMS on Day 1!!! Students in Mrs. Howard's class did STEM challenges in class today to work on problem solving skills and group expectations. One group created the longest paper chain while the other built towers to hold books while using only paper and tape!
