Harlan FRYSC (Family Resource & Youth Services Center) is surveying our school families as part of a needs assessment. If you are the parent/guardian of a student at any Harlan Independent school (preschool - senior), your input is requested on this brief, 9 question multiple choice survey. Paper copies of the survey are going home with preK-8th students this week. You may either fill out the paper survey and return it to school, or you may use this online form. Students in Ms. Wilson’s rotation classes have been busy with visitors! Mrs. Adams and Mrs. Billie from FRYSC came to share lessons in Hand Washing, Teeth Brushing, and Personal Hygiene. Students learned the importance of taking care of their bodies and doing everything they can to stay healthy! 😁😁

🐅 🐘🐆HES second graders have been exploring animal categorizations and their habitats. Their investigation focused on habitats and organisms that inhabit them. Students chose specific habitats to investigate for their projects. Based on their research, the students constructed a diorama. The second graders with the top three winning dioramas were:
1st place: Caroline Taylor
2nd place: Logan Burkhart
3rd place: Eli Key
Elfalfa has been busy visiting our students at Harlan Elementary. He made it to the science lab during the 3rd & 4th grade classes and brought candy canes and sugar cookies to give to the students. Next, he visited the gym and brought paper snowballs for a friendly snowball fight! He also brought a snack for the kids to have at the end of class! Elfalfa sent a friendly paper airplane straight to Mrs. Posey’s office today to announce his departure back to The North Pole. We will miss him until we see him again next year!
🏀 It's GAMEDAY, Dragons!!! 🐉 Tonight, Harlan High School hosts the Middlesboro Yellow Jackets in a doubleheader match-up. The Lady Dragons will tip off at 6:00 pm, and the Green Dragons will follow at 7:30 pm. Come out and cheer on the Dragons! #gobiggreen
