📏✨ Measuring Up in Mrs. Estep’s 2nd Grade Class! ✨📏 Students at HES have been putting their math skills to work by measuring with centimeter cubes! 📐 These young mathematicians enjoyed hands-on practice measuring different objects and building their understanding of centimeters. 💙 #HES #HandsOnLearning #MathIsFun

Sorting, stacking, and smiling in Mr. Noe’s Homeroom! 🐻🔴🔵🟢 Math class just got a whole lot brighter! ✨ Our kindergarteners have been diving into vibrant, hands-on learning by sorting math manipulatives into groups based on their different attributes. Whether they’re sorting by color, size, or shape, these little mathematicians are building important critical-thinking skills while having a blast! We love seeing these bright minds learn, explore, and grow! 🧠💡

🐉💚 Dragons Beyond the Bell is back! We’re excited to kick off another great year of Dragons Beyond the Bell, our after-school program designed to provide students with a safe, positive, and encouraging place to learn, grow, and have fun! ✏️📚✨ Students can enjoy tutoring, homework help, enrichment activities, and clubs including physical fitness, art, science, STEM, and more! 🎨🔬⚙️🏃 Starts Monday, August 24 Monday–Thursday | 2:50–5:00 PM In-district transportation is included! We can’t wait for another year of learning, exploring, and growing together! 💚🐲

Mrs. Goldey’s students have had a busy and exciting week of learning! 🌟 Students have been reviewing the alphabet, practicing counting, and learning how to sort objects into groups. 🔤🔢🖍️ We also had special visitors from 4-H who taught students about germs and showed them how germs can stay on our hands if we don’t wash them properly. 🦠🧼 To finish off the week, students cashed in their classroom rewards on Friday and enjoyed a special popcorn treat! 🍿💚 What a great week of learning and fun in Mrs. Goldey’s classroom! 🐉

🔬👀 Science in Mrs. Varner’s 2nd Grade Class! 🌱 Our scientists have been busy learning how to make careful observations using their five senses! Students explored the world around them, paying close attention to what they could see, hear, smell, feel, and observe. Then, they practiced recording their findings just like real scientists! 📝🔎 We are learning that scientists don’t just wonder—they observe, investigate, record, and learn from what they discover! 💡 So proud of our young scientists!

⚠️ DRAGON FAMILIES: PLEASE USE CAUTION! ⚠️ Beginning tomorrow and continuing for the remainder of the cross country season, our 1st–12th grade Cross Country runners will be practicing and running in and around the football field and parking lot area. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ We are asking everyone entering or leaving the area to please slow down, stay alert, and watch carefully for our runners. With runners of all ages practicing together, there will be increased foot traffic in and around the parking lot. 💚 Please help us keep our Green Dragons safe by taking a few extra seconds to slow down and use caution when driving through the area. Thank you for looking out for our runners! 🐉🏃

💚 More Than Just a Team 💚 After our parent meeting tonight, some of our older Cross Country girls stayed to make hair ribbons with our younger runners. 🎀🏃‍♀️ We love seeing our older athletes take the time to include our younger girls, build friendships, and make them feel like part of the team. Cross Country is about so much more than running. It is about friendships, leadership, encouragement, and creating a sense of belonging. 💚 These are the moments that make our program so special. What an amazing week at Harlan Elementary School! 💚🐉 We loved welcoming our newest Dragons during Kindergarten Jumpstart and opening our doors to families during Open House.
