🌞 Sunshine School would like to welcome back Rebecca Rodriguez to the Dragon family! Rebecca is a 2022 graduate of the University of the Cumberlands where she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree. She is currently enrolled at the Cumberlands in the Masters in Art of Teaching program for early childhood and elementary education. Rebecca has been a part of the Dragon Family for some time now. She is married to Harlan High School Alumnus, Coach Johnny Rodriguez, and is the mother of three Harlan Dragons: Eli, Malachi, and Jordan. She has served our district for more than 6 years as an assistant at Sunshine Preschool. She is excited to start the new school year as a K-3 Teacher at Sunshine and looks forward to a great year! 💚 #morethanaschool #familyofdragons

📣📣📣Harlan Middle School cheerleaders (grades 5-8) will practice Thursday and Friday from 6:00-7:30 in the middle school atrium.

In order to make sure our classrooms and teachers are ready for what is sure to be the most exciting school year in our Green Dragon history, we have decided to delay the start of school for our students by one week. The new start date for students at Harlan Elementary, Harlan Middle, and Harlan High will be Wednesday, August 17th, 2022. Sunshine Preschool students will begin on Wednesday, August 24th, 2022.

📣📣There will be an informational meeting for any 5th through 8th grader interested in Harlan Middle School cheerleading this Friday @ 6:00 in the choir room.

We had an excellent turnout for HMS Jumpstart. Students got to meet their teachers, meet our middle school coaches, receive supply lists, and move into their lockers. Special thanks to all HISD staff and coaches that came out to help make HMS Jumpstart a success.
