Green Dragon families, we are excited to kick off the 2025-2026 school year with our annual Back-to-School Block Party on Monday, August 4th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM!

From 5:00–6:00 PM, all of our amazing K-12 teachers will be in their classrooms to welcome students and parents. It’s a great time to meet your child’s teacher, check out their classroom, and get ready for a strong start.

After that, stick around for food, fun, and games as we celebrate the beginning of another incredible year together.

Please remember that all lunches, snacks, and treats you send in for class parties must be nut-free. That means no peanuts, almonds, or any other nutty goodness! When preparing party gift bags, let's keep them nut-free, too. And for birthday treats, please check the labels - if it mentions nuts, or is made in a facility that processes nuts, it's a no-go. 🐉 Congratulations to Our New Cross Country Coach! 🐉. We’re excited to introduce the new head coach of the Harlan High School Green Dragons Cross Country team — Mrs. Alred! Coach Alred brings 16 years of experience in education, including 11 years as a classroom teacher and 5 as an elementary school counselor. She's been coaching cross country for the past five years and has been a passionate recreational runner since she was 20. She’s married to Matthew Alred and is a proud mom to two future Dragons, Andrew (6th grade at HMS) and Emmett (3rd grade at HES). Coach Alred is most inspired by watching young athletes grow, push their limits, and experience the thrill of earning their first medal or crushing a new PR.
