3rd and 4th grade students performed in choir for the whole school! These talented Dragons did an amazing job sharing their music with everyone. We are so proud of them! 💚🐉

Kindergarten students enjoyed a walking field trip around downtown Harlan! They had a great time exploring their community and learning more about the places around them. We are so proud of our little Dragons! 💚🐉

4th grade students enjoyed their trip to Pirates Voyage! They had a wonderful time watching the show and making memories together! 💚🐉

Our kindergarten students will perform their play on Thursday, May 14th at 6:00 PM at Harlan Elementary.🎭 Students should arrive NO LATER than 5:15 PM and go straight to their classrooms. Parents and families may go to the auditorium to find a seat. We can’t wait to see our kindergarten students shine on stage! 💚🐉

HES 3rd and 4th-grade choir will present their spring concert, “Good Vibes,” tonight Wednesday, May 13th, at 4:00 PM in the HES Auditorium for parents and families. Students will stay after school for a frozen treat before heading to the auditorium. They will also perform for younger students at 2:00 PM that same day. The program will last around 20 minutes. Students may leave after their performance or stay to watch the other choirs. Students from Mrs. Goldey’s kindergarten class combined their author study with Eric Carle and learned about the lifecycle of a plant to finish their art and science projects just in time for Mother’s Day. Students read The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle, painted their own clay pots, put their flowers in, and covered it with soil. They had so much fun with this opportunity for vibrant learning. 🌷🪴

Our Leadership and General Intellect Gifted & Talented students recently had the opportunity to visit The Harlan Museum, where learning came to life beyond the classroom walls.
During their visit, students explored the rich history of Harlan County, gaining a deeper understanding of how our region originated and evolved over time. From early settlement stories to the cultural and economic influences that shaped the area, the experience provided meaningful, real-world connections to their learning.
Experiences like this help students grow in knowledge while also encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and a greater appreciation for the community they call home. 🐉
