Graduation
The Kindergarten students from Harlan Elementary School enjoyed their annual walking field trip through downtown Harlan. During the trip, they visited the Harlan Public Library, Monticello Bank, Harlan Courthouse, Harlan Post Office, and explored a fire truck at Huff Park. The students loved learning about community helpers and leaders in the community. They were also pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome and goodies offered by several businesses downtown. This trip is always a memorable experience for the students.

First-grade students have been learning about traits that baby birds share with their parents during science time. They’ve also learned how the adults help the babies survive. Students created their own baby owls using recycled materials. Learning about traits that baby birds share with their parents is a β€œhoot!” πŸ¦‰πŸ¦‰

The learning doesn’t stop in Mrs. Stapleton’s science lab! Kindergarten has been learning about forces. After talking about the wind as an invisible force, the students worked hard to make and fly the kites they created. πŸͺπŸͺπŸͺ
