🏀 📣 Get ready for an action-packed week at Harlan High School. This week, we will be hosting the 52nd District Tournament. The girls' teams will kick off the tournament tonight with two great match-ups at 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm. Followed by the first round of the boys' games tomorrow night.

The Harlan Independent School District will be closed on Monday, February 17th, 2025 in honor of President's Day.
🐉📝Mrs. Overbay's class conducted an experiment to imitate how the adaptation of a thick layer of blubber protects polar bears from the arctic environment. The hand with the blubber glove represents a well adapted organism, a polar bear, that could survive in the harsh arctic conditions, and the hand without the glove represents an animal that cannot survive in the arctic. The students compared the two and constructed an argument about why the polar bears can survive better in their environment than other non-arctic organisms.

Harlan Elementary School boys and girls in grades K-4 are invited to join Little League Basketball this March! Games will be played throughout the month and will be hosted by the HHS Lady Dragon Girls Basketball Team.
Forms can be picked up and returned to the HES office by Friday, February 16th.

The Harlan Elementary School Academic Team dominates onces again. Running their District streak to 8 while scoring a whopping 74 points. The 74 points are the 6th highest point total in the state and Sawyer Crow delivers the top score in Kentucky in Social Studies.
