📚🎉 Happy Read Across America Week, Harlan Elementary! 🎉📚 Yesterday, our halls were filled with Thing 1s and Thing 2s, Cats in Hats, and so many other fantastic book characters as we kicked off the week by dressing as our favorite Dr. Seuss or book characters! 📖✨ It was incredible to see our students' creativity shine as they celebrated the joy of reading in style. 📚💚 Thank you to all the parents, teachers, and staff who helped make today so special! 📚🐉The first day of the Book Fair at Harlan Elementary was a huge success! Students were excited to explore all the new books, and the energy in the library was contagious. A special highlight of the day was a visit from some beloved book characters, who not only brought smiles to our faces but also picked out some great books to take home. From The Cat in the Hat to Dog Man to Junie B. Jones, their presence made the day even more magical. It was a fantastic start to the Book Fair, and we can’t wait for the rest of the week! We will celebrate Read Across America this week, so be sure to set up your eWallets for a quick and easy purchase of all your favorite titles! The book fair will be open Monday-Friday during school, with a special extended “buy time” on Tuesday until 6:00. Come get your the best books, gadgets, and gizmos at Harlan Elementary Book Fair! 📚

As February comes to an end, don’t forget about the February Family Time Challenge! Harlan FRYSC & PRI encourage all Harlan Elementary students to participate by filling out their calendars. ✅ Mark 10 days when your child read for at least 10 minutes (alone or with you). ✅ Note 3 times your family ate dinner together with no electronics. Completed calendars are due by March 3—turn yours in to win a free book! If you need an extra copy, pick one up at the HES office. Make these last days of February count with family time and reading! 📚🐉

Free Harlan Student Ticket Challenge for the Girls 52nd District Championship Game. The Harlan Lady Dragons will take on the HC Black Bears on Thursday, February 27th at 7:00PM at Harlan High for a chance to cut down the nets and be crowned 52nd District Champions. As a result of some generous donations, we will award the students from one of our schools with free tickets for the game. The school with the highest two-day attendance percentage will win free tickets for their entire school. To be eligible for a free ticket, a student must be at school all day (no tardies) on Wednesday and Thursday, February 26th and 27th. Student tickets are $8. We will announce the winning school on Thursday afternoon along with instructions for the winning school on how to get into the game. Today's attendance rate: Harlan Elementary - 93% Harlan Middle -93% Harlan High - 94% The competition starts tomorrow, Wednesday, February 26th.
