As part of a planned fiber optic upgrade across the district, the Harlan Independent Schools will have no phone service starting on Tuesday, April 2 at 2:00 PM through Wednesday, April 3rd at 2:00 PM. #SpringBreakWork

HHS UNITE Club hosted an Easter Egg hunt for all the big "kids" in the high school today. Many eggs were hunted down and Donovan Clark came in first place with 173 eggs returned. HHS UNITE Club hopes everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend! 🐰

Harlan Technology Student Association competed at the KYTSA state competition to start off this week. It came down to a tiebreaker question for our Technology Bowl team, as Cameron Reynolds, Kevin Lee, and Sayed Damaa fell short of a top 3 place finish, finishing the set of matches in 4th place in the state! Sayed Damaa did earn Harlan’s first top 3 placement at the state competition with a 2nd place finish in Extemporaneous Speech, where participants are given a random STEM topic and must impress judges with their knowledge and understanding of the topic with no preparation beforehand. We’re proud of all of our Harlan TSA members this year, ending a very successful year with multiple placements at region and this placement at state. Sayed Damaa does have the opportunity to compete at the National level in Orlando, Florida this summer because of his placement! 🐉🐉🐉

⚾️ CONGRATULATIONS to our Green Dragons for winning the 13th Region All "A" Championship! The Dragons defeated Jackson County 8-6 in tonight's championship game at Jackson County. Way to go, Green! 🐉

🐉 HUGE District Win!! Congratulations to the Harlan Lady Dragons Softball Team as they defeated Bell County in fastpitch action this evening! The Lady Dragons piled up a total of 19 hits during the game, being led offensively by Ella Lisenbee with 4 hits during her 4 at bats!! Let's go, Lady Dragons - we are so proud of you!! 🥎

🐉 🎓 HHS seniors participated in the annual Adulting Day, sponsored by FRYSC and PRI, to learn more about life after graduation! Following sessions on safety, personal finance, voting, and mock interviews, seniors enjoyed an etiquette lunch, learned how to tie neckties, and won prizes.
