Harlan Independent School District will have an early dismissal on Thursday, January 22, 2026, and no school on Friday, January 23, 2026, to allow students and families the opportunity to travel and support the Harlan High School Boys Basketball Team as they represent the 13th Region in the All “A” State Tournament in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Thursday, January 22 – Dismissal Schedule
• Sunshine Preschool: Normal morning session. No afternoon session.
• Harlan Elementary School: Dismissal at 11:35 AM.
• Harlan Middle/High School: Dismissal at 12:00 PM.

🏆 ALL “A” CLASSIC CHAMPIONS! 🏀💚 🏆🏆🏆For the 14th time, your Harlan Green Dragons are the 13th Region All A CHAMPS!!! 😤😤😤 Congratulations to the Green Dragons Boys Basketball Team on an outstanding win over the Middlesboro Yellowjackets to claim the All “A” Classic Championship! The Dragons battled with heart and determination to bring home the title and make school history once again. 🏆🏆 With the championship victory, Harlan now advances to the All “A” State Tournament in Owensboro, where they will represent our school and community on the state stage. All Harlan Independent students get in free tonight, but must check in with Mr. Bolton at the gate between 6:15 and 6:55 PM. High school students riding the bus — the bus will leave at 4:30 PM.

We’re excited to announce that a fan bus will be available to take high school students to the Championship game at OBI! 📣 Fan Bus Information: 🚌 Students that attend will receive FREE admission ⏰ Bus will leave at 4:30 PM ✏️High school students will sign up to ride the bus tomorrow morning in the gym. Getting the All “A” Tournament started off right!! 🏀 The Green Dragons were victorious in their opening game of the 13th Region All “A” Tournament, defeating Jackson County. The Dragons led throughout the contest on their way to an 80–65 victory! 💚🐉
