🏋️ "The Challenge" week, hosted by Harlan 21st Century Teen Club, will be postponed until the week of June 26th. The previously scheduled "Whippin' Up Success" week is still slated for the week of June 19th and will now be the starting week for these fun summer camps. There is still time to register if any incoming 5th through 12th graders are looking for some fun activities for this summer! #Harlan21cclc
We will be hosting a Time of Remembrance candlelight service at the Harlan football field tonight from 8 to 9 pm. This will be a time of reflection and support for all who loved Timmy. ALL are welcome. 💚
Also, we will have the school open tomorrow with counselors available for students or staff needing someone to talk to.
The Harlan Independent School District would like to send our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Harlan Middle School student Timothy Hickson. Timothy was special to many people and brought many smiles to his friends and staff in the hallways and classrooms at HMS. Timothy also participated in many sports where he was able to enjoy the games that he loved while spending time with the friends he loved even more. No words can truly describe how much Timothy meant to so many. We all mourn this tragic loss and send our prayers to his family and friends on this terrible night.
Harlan High School will be open on Monday for any students who want to speak with our counselors. The Harlan Independent School District would like to join together to support our students, staff, and community throughout the coming days.

Kaleb McLendon recently broke the Harlan High School record in Long Jump that had stood for more than four decades. With a leap of 21'-6.5" during regional competition, McLendon had the longest jump of all Class A jumpers in 2023. Congratulations to Kaleb McLendon.
