🐉 Congratulations to our HHS sophomores Gwen Toll and Murtaza Hussain for being chosen as 2025 Rogers Scholars! They will participate in an intensive week-long program, where they will work on building their leadership skills, participate in a series of team-building exercises, receive hands-on instructional training from professional experts in engineering, healthcare, and civic engagement, and interact with nationally recognized business leaders and entrepreneurs. The program focuses on developing skills in leadership, technology, entrepreneurship, and community service.

In an exciting matchup, the Harlan Lady Dragons rallied from a four-run deficit to defeat the Middlesboro Lady Yellow Jackets 9-6 tonight.
The Lady Dragons turned the game around in the bottom of the sixth, scoring six runs, highlighted by Ella Lisenbee's two-RBI single.
Harlan’s offense was led by Ella Farley with three hits, while Lisenbee, Farley, and Addison Jackson each contributed two RBIs.

The four startups—The Burnt Platter, Dragon's Drive-In Theater, Sweet n Saucy Gourmet Popcorn, and Dragon Scoops Rolled Ice Cream—reflect the creativity, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit of Harlan’s students. The Burnt Platter specializes in custom-branded charcuterie boards featuring premium meats and cheeses. Dragon's Drive-In Theater brings the fun of a pop-up movie theater experience to the community, creating an affordable entertainment option. Sweet n Saucy Gourmet Popcorn offers unique, handcrafted popcorn flavors tailored to local tastes. Dragons Scoops Rolled Ice Cream introduces rolled ice cream to Harlan, giving the town a sweet new treat for residents and visitors alike.
These businesses aren’t just classroom projects—they’re real ventures built from the ground up by students who are learning how to develop a product, manage operations, and engage customers.
