Harlan Technology Student Association Places in Multiple Categories at Regional Competition
On Friday February 16, 2024, the Harlan Chapter of the Technology Student Association competed at their regional competition for the Kentucky TSA. No student left empty handed, as teams competed in multiple categories and walked away with ribbons. Placements for students are as such:
Matthew Brock and Peyton Thompson placed 1st in Debating Technological Issues.
Kevin Lee, Peyton Thompson, Connor Witt, Sayed Damaa, Cameron Reynolds, and Aiden Carroll (not pictured) placed 1st in On-Demand Video.
Caiden Baker and Charlie Honeycutt placed 2nd in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle.
Caiden Baker and Kade Napier placed 3rd in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle.
Sayed Damaa, Kevin Lee, and Cameron Reynolds placed 3rd in Technology Bowl.
Chapter Advisor, Dr. Gregory Edens, stated, “I was really impressed with the drive these students had for the competition. This is our third year with TSA and the experience is showing. I’m even more impressed with the flexibility of students as we had a couple students unable to attend at the last minute and substitutes filled in competitions and managed to place so high. It was a great competition for them. They definitely embody the characteristics of what Harlan Independent instills in their students.”
Harlan TSA chapter looks to compete at the State Competition held in Louisville Kentucky this year. That competition is slated for March 18th-20th.
