Mrs. Stapleton’s Science classes have been busy learning about the engineering design process. Kindergarten created backscratchers. 1st grade built bridges. 2nd grade made traps to catch a unicorn. 3rd grade created traps for class pets that had escaped. Her 4th graders invented houses of the future! 🐉

🐉🐉🐉 6th Grade Students from Harlan Middle School had an awesome time yesterday at the UNITE Rally at the Hal Rogers Forum in Hazard! Kaitlyn Miller and Ethan McDowell represented HMS and won two different competitions at the event!
Reminder: 🤴👸 HMS Football Homecoming will take place on Thursday, September 14th at the Harlan High School Football Field. Homecoming festivities will begin at 5:15. All participants should arrive to the field by 4:45. The HMS Football team will play after Homecoming at 6:00!
Congratulations to the Harlan High School Marching Band on their recent performance this past Saturday in the Preliminary at Madison Southern!
The Color Guard took 1st Place in Single A.
The Band took 3rd Place Overall in Single A.
End result placed Harlan Band 9th Place Overall amongst all participating schools!

Harlan 21st Century Teen Club will not be meeting after school on Tuesday September 12th due to Parent Teacher Conferences.

Harlan Elementary Staff would like to celebrate with you each Friday during the month of September by inviting grandparents to eat breakfast with their grandchild. We have designated each Friday to a certain grade level:
Friday, September 15th-1st Grade
Friday, September 22-2nd Grade
Friday, September 29th- 3rd & 4th Grade
You may join your grandchild at 7:50a.m. in the HES Cafeteria. Breakfast is $3.00 for adults. 🐉🐉🐉
