🏀 HMS 8th Grade Celebration 🏀

It’s a special night for our 8th graders at HMS! Tonight we celebrate our 8th grade basketball boys and cheerleaders - their teamwork, growth, and leadership. 💚🐉 The details for the evening are as follows:

Christmas Hair Don’t Care! ✨🎄 Today’s dress-up theme was all about festive fun — students and staff wore their favorite holiday hats and headbands! We loved seeing all the cheerful Christmas spirit around the school! ❤️💚🎅🧑‍🎄

A huge thank you to Ms. Billie from FRYSC for visiting Ms. Wilson’s class, teaching such an important lesson, and sharing hygiene items with our students. We appreciate everything she does for our students and families! 💙 Great job to our students for participating and learning how to stay clean and healthy! 🪥🧼✨

The Harlan Middle/ High School Band marched proudly in the Christmas Parade last night and did an outstanding job! 🎄🎺 We’re so proud of their hard work and holiday spirit! Go marching Dragons!! 🎶

🐉🐉🐉Several Green Dragons showed up and shined this morning at the annual Jingle Bell Jog. Congratulations to all of our runners! Many received medals. Several Harlan teachers, parents, and coaches also participated. ❄️ Day 5: Frosty Day! ❄️ On Friday, our students and staff looked frosty and festive in their white outfits and snowman gear! ⛄🤍 We loved seeing all the winter-themed creativity throughout the day.

🏀🐉 Harlan Elementary 3rd/4th grade boys basketball closed out their regular season play with a win at Middlesboro in overtime! Justyce Young hit the game winning jumper in the final seconds of OT. He also led the dragons in scoring with 6 points. Ben Parsons and Kelton Dean tossed in 4 points each. Braxton Sizemore, Rhett Fields, and Ashwin Ghanti contributed 2 points each to round out the scoring for the dragons. They will return to action on December 13th at Harlan. Harlan Elementary is the host for the 13th Region 3rd/4th grade Boys Basketball Conference. A Brackett and game times will be posted in the coming days.

Today the HMS 5/6 Grade Green Dragons will travel to Barbourville High School to compete against the Middlesboro Yellow Jackets in conference tournament action!!
