Students in Ms. Wilson’s 3rd and 4th grade classes are participating in Smart Moves with Kellie Bennett from the Boys & Girls Club. Students are engaging in roundtable lessons and discussions about making good decisions, healthy and unhealthy choices, self-care, and self-awareness. Students developed a class contract that they will follow during each meeting. The goal for Smart Moves is to teach each student the strategies and skills they need to live happy and healthy lives. HES 3rd and 4th grade students are awesome! Another great day in Ms. Wilson’s classes.

🏀🎉🏀 Congratulations to HMS Lady Dragons who defeated Pineville 48-20. The Lady Dragons were led in scoring by Harper Carmical and SaraKate Fisher who both had 13 points. Other scoring includes Addison Campbell 10 points, Gracie Hensley 4, Peyshaunce Wynn 4, Breslyn Harmon 2, and Jordyn Smith 2 points.


HHS Volleyball - Our girls play at home tonight against Knox Central. Game starts at 6:00 PM. Come out and support these wonderful student-athletes! #GoBigGreen


Students in Ms. Wilson’s Health & PE classes participated in handwashing lessons. Mrs. Adams and Mrs. Billie from FRYSC presented a lesson on the importance of correctly washing your hands. They brought along “germ lotion” and a blacklight so students actually see if they got rid of the germs after washing their hands. All students enjoyed the lesson. It was a great day in Ms. Wilson’s classes.

The Harlan Elementary girls were victorious in the elementary races Saturday at the Lynn Camp Invitational. Priscilla Stewart led the Dragons, placing second overall with a time of 7:33.51. Zoe Lawson finished seventh with a time of 8:03.14, and Cora Jones (8:22.55) placed 12th. Other competitors for Harlan were Lillian Daniels (13th, 8:24.28), Mckenzie Petrey 15th, 8:30.67), Lillie Carver (19th, 8:43.36), Julianne Miller (26th, 8:56.03), Megan Lewis (32nd, 9:24.46), Shaedyn Crow (41st, 9:47.06), Rebecca Adams (55th, 10:26.53), Natalie Adams (56th, 10:27.31), Arianna Raleigh (57th, 10:28.15), Hannah Adams (60th, 10:33.14), Sophia Damaa 73rd, 11:18.81), Bella Lemar (96th, 13:08.82), Arwen Lemaster (101st, 13:56.97) and Tori Wattenberger (102nd, 13:59.28).
Harlan boys placed fourth overall. Cooper Thomas led the boys (7th, 7:14.05). Micah Shope (7:59.73) placed 23rd, while Aiden Browning placed 31st with a time of 8:13.23.
