Students enrolled in the Save the Children Literacy Program celebrated their hard work by listening to the story of the Holiday Classic, Home Alone. They also enjoyed an ice cream sundae. A special visitor stopped by, and the students felt that mean Old Grinch needed a hug. The Grinch seemed to enjoy the holiday cheer!

Additionally, you may also stop by Harlan Elementary School next week (Tuesday 27th, Wednesday 28th, or Thursday 29th) from 8:30-3:30PM to pick up your card.

Through a continued partnership, Mrs. Heather Saylor, RN, paid another visit to students in Ms. Wilson’s Health & PE rotation classes at Harlan Elementary. She continued educating the students through her Brain Protectors program, which stresses the importance of knowing the signs and symptoms of a stroke. Students learned B.E.F.A.S.T. in order to be prepared to help someone who may be having a stroke. Students became “Certified Brain Protectors” at the conclusion of the lesson. 🧠

Students had an exciting last day at school before Christmas Break! We hope all of our Green Dragons have a Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing them back in the new year!

Christmas came early for some really awesome students at Harlan Elementary School. Through the Christmas Enrichment program, students were able to enjoy a special trip to Just Jump, where students and teacher volunteers had the time of their lives. Students were also given the opportunity to watch a movie and enjoy popcorn with their friends before being sent home with a Santa bag full of gifts. The Christmas Enrichment program is made possible through generous donations from local businesses and school staff, as well as student sponsorships in purchasing gifts. This program would not be possible without the support of our staff, community, and volunteers. At Harlan Elementary, we are more than a school…We are a family! 🎄

🏆Each month Harlan Elementary rewards their students with perfect attendance. This month all students picked out a toy and their name was put into a drawing for a bicycle.
🎉Congratulations to Ellianna Carver and Braxton Sizemore for winning the bikes! They got to go with Mrs. Posey to Walmart and pick out their bikes today during school! 🚴🏼♀️

Christmas time at HES is fun and memorable. Students and staff have enjoyed dressing up for the 12 Days of Christmas. Our school elf, Elfafa, visited each classroom and brought lots of fun! We had a visit from the Grinch, who usually doesn't like Christmas, but our students spread so much Christmas cheer that the Grinch himself even had fun! 🎄🎄

Mrs. Crow's 4th-grade math class worked hard in their Geometry Unit. Students drew different triangles and polygons to create Geome "trees," Santa's village, and ornaments. Students also explored symmetry by making snowflakes. 🎄❄️

🏀 Congratulations to the JV Lady Dragons for their big win over Red Bird. The Lady Dragons were lead by Shelby Doan with 10 points and Raegan Goodman with 8 points. Great job, ladies! #gobiggreen
