Our first group of students from 4th grade came over to the Middle School and shadowed for the entire day while seeing what a full day at HMS looks like. 4th Grade Transition will continue with different groups of students for the next four days! We are excited to welcome our newest group of Dragons at HMS!
The Harlan Elementary School Academic Team dominates onces again. Running their District streak to 8 while scoring a whopping 74 points. The 74 points are the 6th highest point total in the state and Sawyer Crow delivers the top score in Kentucky in Social Studies.

Harlan Elementary School boys and girls in grades K-4 are invited to join Little League Basketball this March! Games will be played throughout the month and will be hosted by the HHS Lady Dragon Girls Basketball Team. Forms can be picked up and returned to the HES office by February 10th.

February is a great time for family! Harlan FRYSC & PRI are encouraging all HES students to participate in the February Family Time Challenge. Fill out the calendar with 10 dates that your child read at home for at least 10 minutes (either with you, or on their own), and three times that your family ate dinner together without any electronics. Copies went home with students last week, but extras can be picked up at parent-teacher conferences (February 4, 3:30-5:30) or from the front desk of HES. Return the completed calendar to school by March 3 to win a free book!
