The Lady Dragons completed an undefeated day with a championship victory over Cumberland! We would like to congratulate all of the players and coaches on their hard work! 🥎 Another Softball Saturday!! 🥎 The HHS Lady Dragons are headed across the mountain to compete in the Mountain Strong Softball Classic being hosted and held at Letcher County Central. The Lady Dragons will first play against the Belfry Pirates at 11:15 AM, and then again at 3:45 PM against the Shelby Valley Wildcats. Good luck, Green!! #gobiggreen #morethanaschool

HES recently hosted an event in celebration of World Health Day, in collaboration with 21st Century, PRI, Mrs. Wilson, FRYSC, and the 4-H Extension Office. The event was aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle for students and families. The attendees were treated to a variety of wellness lifestyle presentations, a yoga class, and a presentation on MyPlate. In addition, the students got the opportunity to create their MyPlate crafts. We are grateful for the partnerships that made this event possible and the opportunity to encourage healthy living among our students and their families. 🍽️🍎🍊🍌

Nashayla is representing the Harlan 21st Century Teen Club in the Kentucky State Youth of the Year event today in Louisville, KY. Nashayla has been a part of the teen club since 5th grade and will be speaking on behalf of what the club has done in her life. We are very proud of her and wish her the best of luck today! 🐉

🔥 HHS LADY DRAGON SOFTBALL 🔥 With another huge district win this evening, the HHS Lady Dragons defeated the visiting Bell County Lady Cats 13-0. The Lady Dragons were led offensively by Ella Farley, who went 4-4 on the evening. Addison Jackson and Ryleigh Estes each collected a couple of hits for the Lady Dragons. Defensively, Mallory McNiel received the win from the mound! Let's go, Green!! 🐉

Great News!! We have resolved our plumbing and water issues and will operate on a normal schedule for tomorrow April 19, 2024. All Harlan Independent Schools will be on their normal schedules for Friday, April 19, 2024.

Due to an unexpected plumbing and water issue in the district the Harlan Independent Schools will have no school on Thursday, April 18. This is not an NTI day. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your school.

⚾️ HMS baseball game @ Leslie Co scheduled for tonight has been canceled. There will be optional practice at the field from 6:30-8:00 instead

The Harlan Elementary School Derby Day celebrations will be on Friday, April 26th. 🐴🧲 🍳The annual HES Derby Breakfast will be served for 3rd and 4th grades. 🌹🐎Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students will participate in our 4th Annual Run for the Roses Derby race! 📸Parents may begin lining the streets downtown at 12:00. We look forward to seeing our students dressed in their Derby best and running their races for the roses! 🌹 👒🎩

🐉 Lady Dragons WIN! 🥎 It was a big night at the HHS Softball field as the Lady Dragons defeated the visiting Middlesboro Lady Jackets 13-10. The Big Green Nation was led offensively by Ella Farley and Gracie Hensley who both went 3-4 at the plate. Ella Lisenbee, Addison Jackson, Abbi Fields, and Ava Nunez each added several hits to pace the Lady Dragons. This makes the Lady Dragons 2-0 in District play!! 💪
