Senior Recognition Week: Winter Sport Athletes.
🏀 Jae'dyn Gist is a 5 year member of the Harlan Independent Varsity basketball team. Jae'dyn has been involved with basketball the majority of his life, accounting for 12 years playing and loving the sport. Among the team and individual recognitions, Jae'dyn has the WYMT Mountain Classic All Tournament, 4x All-A Region Champion, 4x All-A Tournament team, All-A State 2nd Team, 4x All District team, 1000 point club, 1000 rebound club, and 3x All Region team. In the classroom, Jae'dyn excels as well, averaging for a 3.4 GPA and having received the William C. Parker and Merit Tier 4 Scholarships.

📣 Haylee Mae Couch is a 3 year member of the Harlan Cheerleading squad. She serves as a base in most floor routines for the team. Over the last couple of years she has had the privilege of being a part of the squads to win the All-A State Cheerleading Championship two years in a row! Despite being very active with cheerleading and other extra-curriculares, Haylee maintains a 3.7 GPA and excels in all her coursework. #MoreThanASchool

🏀 Cameren Maples, your 2023 Homecoming King, is a 4 year member of the Green Dragons Boys basketball team. Cameren has been part of many notable teams during his tenure at Harlan, having received dozens of tournament championship trophies and recognitions. On top of playing basketball, Cameren also enjoys playing baseball and manages his academics well. #MoreThanASchool

📣Mia Claire Pace is a 4 year varsity cheerleader, having cheered for a total of 7 years. She was part of the competition team that won 2nd Runner Up in the All-A Classic before going on to winning two All-A Classic Cheer Championships back to back. Mia is a flyer for the Harlan Squad, constantly being lifted to amazing heights to perform amazing stunts. Speaking of amazing heights and stunts, Mia manages to maintain a 4.0 GPA while being so active in her extra-curricular pursuits at Harlan High School. #MoreThanASchool

Students in Ms. Wilson’s Health & PE classes participated in Fitness Fair #3. Students in each class moved through stations to check their BMI, grip strength, sit and reach, number of sit-ups, and time to complete the bear crawl. All the students did their best and had a great time. Thank you to all the volunteers who came to help make the Fitness Fair a success.

Harlan Elementary 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-grade students with perfect attendance for the month of January were “happy” to be treated to lunch at McDonald's today! The students enjoyed a Happy Meal and a fun trip with friends! 😊 #attendancematters #HESrocks





Parent-teacher conferences will be held Thursday, February 9th, from 3:30-5:30. Mid-terms will go home.

During his tenure at Harlan, Kaleb has racked up the WYMT Classic MVP award, 4x All-A Tournament Team, 3x All District Team, 1,000 Point Club, and 500 Rebound Club. Kaleb not only excels athletically but looks towards his academics managing over a 3.0 GPA. He recently received the William C. Parker Scholarship as he looks ahead to his future educational pursuits. #MoreThanASchool

📣Di’mond Turner is a 4 year varsity cheerleader, having started the last two seasons with the Harlan Green Dragons Cheerleading Squad. She was part of the competition team that won district her freshman year before coming to Harlan and winning two All-A Classic Cheer Championships. Di’mond can most often be found managing the base for stunts but could be found anywhere on the floor during a routine for the Dragons. Despite her busy athletic schedule, Di’mond manages to maintain a 3.9 GPA and constantly on the A/B Honor Roll. #MoreThanASchool
