Students at HES participated in a nutrition lesson using My Plate to show students how important it is to eat a balanced diet and to choose healthy snacks. 🥕🥒 Thank you to our visitors from the 4-H Extension Office for teaching our students the importance of nutrition.

🌳🌳🌳Harlan Elementary Students, enrolled in Save the Children Program-literacy program, planted their own Truffula Seed! They were each given a Truffula Seed and planted it with care. Gave it clean water and fed it with fresh air! They could not believe what happened the following day! Their Truffula Tree grew!
HHS Seniors participated in Adulting Day, a one-day program sponsored by FRYSC to prepare students for life after high school. Seniors practiced life skills such as interviewing, laundry, tying neckties, and registering to vote. They heard from professionals about personal finance, mental health, legal matters, and safety. The day concluded with an etiquette lunch and prizes. Thank you to all the community volunteers who shared their day with us and to Harlan Baptist Church and Christ Episcopal Church for sharing their facilities!

The Sun Shine was extra bright in the hallways at Harlan Elementary today, thanks to our special visitors from Sunshine Preschool! Each year students at Sunshine get to come and experience what being a student is like at Harlan Elementary to help them transition toward Kindergarten. We are thankful for our students and for being able to see the future with our little dragons today! 🐉😎
Harlan Elementary School wrapped up the 2023 Kentucky Governor’s Cup Academic Team Championships by winning their sixth (6) consecutive regional trophy recently at Wallins Elementary.
