Harlan Elementary School recently held the first Fitness Fair for the school year. Students in Ms. Wilson’s Health & PE classes participated over two days of fitness. On Day 1, students moved through fitness stations - BMI & Body Fat %, Grip Strength, Sit & Reach, Sit-Ups, and Bear Crawl. On Day 2, students attempted to walk a mile (30 laps) around the gym and also had a lesson on the sugar and fat content in foods, portion sizes, and healthy vs. unhealthy foods. The HES Fitness Fair was held in collaboration with the 4H Extension Office and Harlan ARH. Several other staff members also volunteered their time to help make the Fitness Fair a success. It was definitely a team effort from all students, teachers, and volunteers! ✨
