Harlan Elementary School recently held the second Fitness Fair for the school year. Students in Ms. Wilson’s Health & PE classes will participate over two days of fitness. On Day 1, students moved through fitness stations - BMI & Body Fat %, Grip Strength, Sit & Reach, Sit-Ups, and Bear Crawl. On Day 2, students will attempt to walk a mile (30 laps) around the gym and participate in a lesson on the sugar and fat content in foods, portion sizes, and healthy vs. unhealthy foods. The HES Fitness Fair was held in collaboration with the 4H Extension Office and Harlan ARH. Several other staff members also volunteered their time to help make the Fitness Fair a success. It was definitely a team effort from all students, teachers, and volunteers!

In honoring Harlan High School football tradition, Friday at 5:00 PM the Harlan Green Dragon football team, along with the HHS cheerleaders and Marching Band, will be marching from the front of Harlan High School, down Central Street to the Joe Gilley Athletic Complex. We invite all students, family, friends, community members, and alumni to line the Dragon Walk with signs to cheer on our team as they walk to the field to take on Sayre! Students in Ms.Cohelia’s Library Rotation practiced finding their home keys with a fun Musical Chairs game. After the game, they worked on TypingClub, where they completed fun lessons! 💻
