Hey Trick-or-Treaters! Don't forget as you trick-or-treat in Harlan, stop by the front entrance to Harlan High School and grab some candy from the HHS FBLA! 🎃

We are proud of the dedication that these students have shown thus far. These Dragons have perfect attendance and are Dedicated Dragons for the First Nine Weeks! Congratulations, Dragons! 💚🐉

It's getting spooky at Harlan Elementary School!! The Harlan Middle School Beginning and Intermediate bands performed Halloween songs for the elementary students this morning!🎃

Students participated in a scavenger hunt searching for Pirate Joe and the missing treasure. After solving riddles, they discovered Pirate Joe and his two dogs, Bo and Skip. While enjoying their treats, students created their own version of the story and why they believed Pirate Joe was left behind.

As a service to the community, Harlan FRYSC is proud to offer parenting classes through a grant from Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky. Parent educator Mrs. Mary Lou McCarthy leads Nurturing Parenting classes at the Harlan County Public Library (Mondays at 1:00, free and open to the public) and at Cumberland Hope Community. Through an additional grant from the Commonwealth Center for Fathers & Families, Mrs. McCarthy provided a 6-workshop course ("Back on Track") this summer for residents of Epiphany House and members of Harlan County Specialty Court.
We are pleased to announce that with a grant from the National Fatherhood Institute, Mrs. McCarthy's offerings are expanding to include the Harlan County Detention Center, where she will teach the InsideOut Dads curriculum to the Substance Abuse Program residents. Congratulations to Mrs. McCarthy on receiving and successfully implementing these grants!
For more information, please contact Mrs. McCarthy or Mrs. Adams at 606-573-8700, option 6. #familyofdragons
