A special shoutout to David, a determined kindergarten student who came in yesterday, carefully wrote down all the books he wanted all by himself, and then returned today to get them! His excitement for reading was truly heartwarming. Thank you to everyone who has supported the Book Fair so far—we can’t wait to see what Day 3 brings!📖

📚🐉The first day of the Book Fair at Harlan Elementary was a huge success! Students were excited to explore all the new books, and the energy in the library was contagious. A special highlight of the day was a visit from some beloved book characters, who not only brought smiles to our faces but also picked out some great books to take home. From The Cat in the Hat to Dog Man to Junie B. Jones, their presence made the day even more magical. It was a fantastic start to the Book Fair, and we can’t wait for the rest of the week! There will be no Dragons Beyond the Bell on Tuesday, March 4th nor Thursday, March 6th this week. 🐉

🐉 The months of March and April are going to be March Madness Attendance Months! Grade levels will go against each other throughout the next two months to see which grade has the best attendance! It is critical for all of our students to be in school everyday as we push towards the finish line!

✨Congratulations to HHS freshman Michael Lindsey on his selection for the statewide FRYSCKy Legislative Page Day program! Michael traveled to Frankfort where he toured the capitol, met Governor Andy Beshear and Senior Advisor Rocky Adkins, and served as a page for Rep. Adam Bowling in the House of Representatives during the February 27th legislative session.   This program gives students an up-close look at state government and the legislative process.  Michael said, "I had a great time being a page in the House of Representatives.  I learned a lot about the legislature and how it worked.  The highlight of the day was definitely meeting Governor Andy Beshear!"  ✨ 🐉We are proud of Michael for representing Harlan Independent!🐉
