THE HOUSE OF CHAMPIONS!!! HARLAN MIDDLE SCHOOL LADY DRAGONS ARE WINNERS OF THE 5/6 GRADE CHAMPIONSHIP! The Lady Dragons were the one seed for the tournament and capped off their undefeated season by defeating Jackson County in the championship game 46-13. 🐉 The Dragon Kitchen is back! Yesterday, Mrs. Galloway's Entrepreneurship class served up a delicious lunch for the teachers and staff in the Harlan Independent School District. Students first met with Coach Thompson earlier in the year to earn their food handling card, and then yesterday, they prepared cheeseburgers and grilled chicken salads for the staff. Thank you, Dragon Kitchen, for your hard work! #GoBigGreen 🐉

🏀🔥 Our 5th/6th Grade Girls' Basketball Team has earned the #1 seed in the 13th Region Conference Tournament today! 🏀 🔥 This morning, they will play the winner of the 1st game against Middlesboro and Barbourville. 🐉 Our future healthcare professionals! HHS students attended the AHEC Health Careers Expo at the Harlan Center to try their hand at numerous medical skills and speak with representatives from vocational schools, colleges, and training programs. Using simulators, students attempted to place IVs, intubate, perform physical therapy exercises, sutures, read X-rays, and more. Agencies provided information about educational opportunities and careers in the health industry. Students returned with new career ideas and interest in the health & wellness field!      #morethanaschool

Homecoming - 5:15 PM (if you are a participant, please be at the football field no later than 4:45 to line up)

🐲🏈📣Harlan Elementary 3rd/4th grade football and cheerleading teams were on display at home last night against Knox Central.

👟 Our Cross Country team ran a wonderful weekend race in Wayne County! Congratulations to all of our runners! High School: Girls: Harper Carmical: Placed 8th with her Season PR 🐉🌟 Middle School: Girls: Our girls middle school team placed 2nd overall! They also had several step-up to help the middle school team. Julianne Miller and Shelbee Miller ran up to help Zoe Lawson and Josephine Toll create a team. Julianne Miller: Placed 4th - First middle school race Zoe Lawson: Placed 6th Boys: Our boys placed a close 3rd place, we missed 2nd by 3 points We had some 5th and 6th-graders step up to create a team this weekend! Shout out to Ben Toll, Aiden Browning, Trenton Turner, Xander Owens, and Canaan Bolton for helping out TL Miller and Aidan Burnette to create a team! Shout out to Carter White, who ran up Varsity this weekend and finished in 23:54! Way to go, Dragons! 🐉🐉

Mrs. Freyer’s U.S. History and HIS 108/AP U.S. History students are kicking off a year-long history project leading up to America’s 250th birthday in July 2026.
Each month, students dive into a 25-year era of United States history to research and create a one-page showcase on a significant person, document, law/court case, place, or event from that time.
