HHS UNITE Club hosted an Easter Egg hunt for all the big "kids" in the high school today. Many eggs were hunted down and Donovan Clark came in first place with 173 eggs returned. HHS UNITE Club hopes everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend! 🐰

Harlan Technology Student Association competed at the KYTSA state competition to start off this week. It came down to a tiebreaker question for our Technology Bowl team, as Cameron Reynolds, Kevin Lee, and Sayed Damaa fell short of a top 3 place finish, finishing the set of matches in 4th place in the state! Sayed Damaa did earn Harlan’s first top 3 placement at the state competition with a 2nd place finish in Extemporaneous Speech, where participants are given a random STEM topic and must impress judges with their knowledge and understanding of the topic with no preparation beforehand. We’re proud of all of our Harlan TSA members this year, ending a very successful year with multiple placements at region and this placement at state. Sayed Damaa does have the opportunity to compete at the National level in Orlando, Florida this summer because of his placement! 🐉🐉🐉

🎶🎼HHS Seniors Allyssa Burkhart, Ethan Farley, and Morgan Pyles performed at the Upper Cumberland Retired Teachers Association meeting at the Harlan Center.  Andrew Alred, the grandson of retired teacher Karen Alred, read the poem, It Takes a Heap of Learning, written by Frances Ball in 1982. 🎶🎼📖

⚾️ CONGRATULATIONS to our Green Dragons for winning the 13th Region All "A" Championship! The Dragons defeated Jackson County 8-6 in tonight's championship game at Jackson County. Way to go, Green! 🐉

The boards are located on our HES playground and in our HES gymnasium. Fun things are happening in Ms. Ashley Overbay’s 3rd-grade science class! Students have been studying the life cycle of plants and animals. During this process, they have furthered their knowledge by learning the germination process of tomato plants and growing their own. Students have also taken part in monitoring the 21-day incubation process and studying the life cycle of chicks. 🐣🐥🪴
