Harlan Middle/High School is now accepting nominations for a minority parent representative for the School Based Decision Making Council (SBDM). Any minority parent/guardian of a student in grades 5-12 may be nominated, and self-nominations are accepted. Please submit nominations by September 9 by contacting Mrs. Adams in Harlan FRYSC (606-573-8700, option 6 or cecilia.adams@harlanind.kyschools.us ). Voting will take place September 11 & 12.
Harlan Elementary School made a big debut yesterday!

📣The 3rd and 4th-grade cheerleaders took to the sidelines to cheer on our team and did a fantastic job! 📣

Harlan Elementary School will host our annual Mother/Son (Mamas and Cowboys) event on September 28, 2024. The event will take place at the Harlan Center from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with doors opening at 5:00 p.m. for pictures.
The cost of the event will be as follows:
$45 for Mother and Son
$25 for each extra son
(Must be a K-4 student at HES)
$25 extra female
(Stepmom, aunt, cousin, family friend)
The cost will cover admission to the event, food, and one 5x7 (mother & son)
Forms and payments are due no later than September 20th.🤠🤠
🍦 First-grade perfect attendance students enjoyed their ice cream sundae today! We had 155 students with perfect attendance and finished August with a 96% attendance rate!! Way to go, Dragons! Keep up the excellent work!!🐉🐉

🐉🐉🐉 HMS Weekly Roundup: There were a lot of awesome things that were happening in our classrooms this week at HMS!
🐉🐉🐉 Students in Miss Kat’s class raced to roll the die and fill up their board with uppercase letters. In the end, one table of all boys were victorious. Students used teamwork and communication skills to cheer each other on. The winners were presented with a book to take home!
