🎄The Harlan High School BETA Club was busy Wednesday night wrapping presents to give to students in the community. Volunteering is one of the key aspects of the BETA Club, and we are thankful for their investment in our school and community. #HHSBETA 🐉 #LetUsLeadByServingOthers

🐉Harlan High School UNITE Club has been working on its poster campaign to bring awareness to the choice to live an alcohol-free, drug-free, and tobacco-free lifestyle. Student work can be seen around the hallways of Harlan High School!

🐉 HHS 9th graders attended the 4H “Reality Store” and experienced an eye-opening simulation of a month as an adult. Students were assigned salaries based on current GPAs and then had to use their projected monthly income to pay for housing, vehicles, childcare, utilities, and other bills, with the goal of ending the month debt-free. Thank you to 4H and the community volunteers who hosted this event!

The teachers and students have worked extremely hard to prepare for this performance and we want everyone to enjoy the show.

🇺🇸 Ms. Maggard's 9th-grade Civics classes recently embarked on an enrichment trip to downtown Harlan with the help and leadership of our GEAR Up team!
As part of their educational journey, our students had the incredible opportunity to visit our local courthouse and gain firsthand knowledge about the roles and responsibilities of the elected and appointed offices in Harlan County.
By witnessing our courthouse's inner workings, they could better comprehend the importance and significance of the various positions that shape our community!

🦃🦃🦃 The cafeteria will be serving a Thanksgiving meal today!

🐉 On Tuesday night, Harlan High School inducted their newest members into the BETA Club. The Beta Club's purpose is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership. Congratulations, Green Dragons. #betaclub

It’s a Great Pumpkin Patch at Harlan Elementary!!!
The Save The Children –Literacy and Math Program had an exciting adventure with their Kindergarten through 4th grade students. Kindergarten and First-Grade students were introduced to Fancy Nancy and went on an “extraordinaire” adventure! Students dressed “fancy,” along with making delectable “fancy” donuts. They used “fancy” words at the donut buffet bar, and followed a simple “fancy” donut recipe. Second through Fourth Grade students were introduced to “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.” Students were served Charlie Brown Waffles, topped with delicious toppings. They helped measure dry and wet waffle ingredients to make waffle batter. Students also went on a scavenger hunt in search of the Great Pumpkin Patch, where they each took a pumpkin home.

HHS UNITE Club, Harlan FRYSC, and GEAR Up are working to stock Anne's Pantry! They need the help of our middle and high school students to help Anne's Pantry provide for people in need this holiday season. Students can bring in any canned food item; the donation amount will be tallied by grade. The grade that brings in the most canned items will receive a free pizza party during break! Middle school students can drop off canned goods for tallies in Jon Dickenson's room. High school students can give their donations to the GEAR Up rooms. Be sure to tell them which grade to record the donation!

‼️‼️‼️ There will be no 21st Century After School today!
Students have begun bringing in canned goods to donate to Christ’s Hands. The grade level that brings the most cans wins a pizza party! 🥫🥫
